The Health Benefits of Juicing: A Nutritional Guide

Why Nutrition is the Foundation of Health

At Above & Beyond Acupuncture, one of our core beliefs is that nutrition is the foundation of health and wellness. All patients receive nutritional guidance as part of their treatment, providing them with an opportunity to improve their diet.

While there are some people who have a basic understanding about nutrition, there remains a large portion of the population that is naïve about how their diet negatively impacts their health. Juicing vegetables is one of the easiest and most popular recommendations we provide to the patients with whom we work. It has proven to be something that anyone can do to improve his or her health.

Is Juicing Vegetables Healthy?

Juicing your vegetables is a great way to meet your daily nutritional requirements. While eating whole vegetables is ideal, many people lack the time or desire to do so.

Benefits of Juicing:

  • Provides essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants
  • Delivers phytochemicals that support cellular health
  • Easily digestible and quickly absorbed by the body

One Consideration:

Juicing removes fiber, which is essential for digestion. For optimal health, pair juicing with whole vegetable consumption.

Best Time of Day to Juice

When it comes to juicing, we recommend drinking it first thing in the morning.

Why Morning Juicing is Beneficial

  • Boosts Nutrient Absorption – Your body absorbs nutrients more effectively on an empty stomach
  • Aids Digestion – Helps cleanse and stimulate the digestive system
  • Increases Energy – Provides sustained energy throughout the day, reducing reliance on caffeine
  • Supports Regularity – Many people experience improved bowel movements after incorporating juicing into their routine

Starting your day with fresh vegetable juice helps set the tone for better health and vitality.

What Vegetables Should You Juice?

When patients at Above & Beyond Acupuncture receive nutritional guidance, they are provided with a “juice prescription.” This is a list of what items to juice, how much of each item to use, and where it can be purchased. This prescription contains a combination of vegetables that will mix together to not only be healthy but also taste great.
